BIOGRAPHY

ANG AH TEE 洪亚弟

Singapore | 1943

Ang Ah Tee’s style of painting is characterized by his use of brush strokes applied with forceful palette knife technique. His artistic development is a product of various exploits in different mediums including watercolour and oil. In 1978, Ang Ah Tee made a switch to using acrylic, which allows him to express both the transparency of watercolour and the texture of oil. Ang enjoys traveling in search of inspirations and looking for new subjects to paint. His semi-abstraction expression style combines western elements with Chinese ink strokes. Through Ang Ah Tee’s unique painting method, his landmarks are presented in a seemingly abstract manner, yet upon careful observation, bring out the often overlooked details in daily life.
