China | 1968

Born into a family of artist, Carey spent his early years learning art at the Guangzhou College of Fine Arts, studying Chinese brush painting. Covering still life, landscapes and portraiture genres, Mr Ngai’s works embody a sense of reality and simplicity, where the details are reflected through his well-balanced proportions of the reality – carefully replicated through each stroke of the brush. Mr Ngai’s mastery of oil painting enables his objects/subjects to come to live on canvas, showcasing the harmony, depth, space and texture through colours and light.
