Zhu Hong started developing a series of night scenes to communicate his impressions of buildings and street scenes after the sun sets. His night scenes are quiet and calming while his paintings which are set in the day time tend to be more dynamic and vibrant. This particular painting of Tiong Bahru scene during the night time is peaceful and serene.
Zhu Hong has held numerous exhibitions in his career as a professional artist. A show titled “portraits of Singapore was held at Beijing Art Museum and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre in 2013. Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery held a solo exhibition by the artist titled “Emerging with Colours, Street Scenes of Singapore” in 2019.
