Lim Choon jin 林俊能

Lim Choon Jin who specializes in Chinese ink painting has been continually exploring various techniques and expressions through his art career. Educated in Singapore and Australia, Lim Choon Jin brings together the elements of Western and Eastern art ininfluence into his creations. Through his observations and keen insight, traditional Chinese landscape paintings of “山水” take on new forms and contemporary appearances. Lim considers first and foremost, observations as the basic and essential resource for knowledge and subsequently personal as the key foundation for handling art creation. With this unique mindset, Lim Choon Jin presents us with a landscape painting experience with his distinct air.

1994 Graduated from LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore
2004 Graduated, BA (Fine Art), First Class Honours, from RMIT University, Australia
Category Winner: Traditional Chinese Medium, 23rd UOB Painting of the Year
2005 Graduated MA (Fine Art), LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore
2013 President of the Modern Art Society, Singapore (2009 – 2010, 2013 – present)
