This painting is one of Tung Yue Nang’s masterpieces as can be seen by its composition and technique applied. Tung opted to frame the majestic fullerton with 2 aged old trees in the foreground, naturally creating a visual distance between the viewer and the historical architecture. The technique applied on the depiction of the 2 large trees is breathtaking, their strength and solidity have all been forged with the masterful wielding of the brush on paper.
Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery held 2 solo exhibitions for Tung Yue Nang in 2014 and 2016. He was awarded the first prize Annual Dr Tan Tze Chor Art Awards Ink painting category in 2002, 2014 and 2019.
