Eng Siak Loy spent many afternoons enjoying the flora and fauna during his time working at the Singapore Botanical Gardens. As he became a professional artist, Eng Siak Loy’s love for flowers was translated onto his canvas and became an important subject in his paintings.
In 2017, Eng Siak Loy held a solo exhibition at the Singapore Botanical Gardens showing about 60 of his paintings from the early 1960s to present. He is also the first and only Singaporean to date to design an entire series of Singapore’s currency notes.
