This still life painting by Wang Mo Ping is one of a series of creations which he did in his studio during the extraordinary times in 2020. It nicely reflects his mastery and strong foundations in the realistic style of oil painting. The textures on the coconut and the folds on the table cloth are all nicely done.
Wang Mo Ping was formerly an associate professor at the Hubei institute of Fine Arts in China and lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. He has held 6 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions to date. In 2017 his painting titled “饮水思源” was exhibited at the showcased at the “Commemorating NS50 through Art” organised by the Singapore Art Society and was collected by the Ministry of Defence.
