Geylang is highly regarded to be one of Singapore’s hot spots for famous hawker stalls and street food. Marvin brings out the hustle and bustle of the area with the depiction of vehicles and draws the viewer’s attention to the shophouses central in the composition with the application of bright colours. He creates contrast by muting the colours of the surrounding buildings. Painting on location has allowed Marvin to freely incorporate elements that are appealing to him into his creations. For instance, the motorcycle at the bottom right hand corner of this painting belongs to his friend and fellow artist Zhu Hong who was out painting with him when this artwork was completed.

As an artist living and working in Singapore, Marvin has painted various Singapore scenes from old colonial buildings to heritage shophouses and markets. In 2018, Marvin Participated in the inaugural "International Watercolour Masters Exhibiion 2018" at Weston Park, United Kingdom.
