Danya Yu is a talented young artist who is famous for her night scenes and raining scenes of Singapore.
In her recent series of works, she imagines the possible evolution and progression of singapore as a modern city. She does this by creating an imaginary space where familiar buildings, objects or places are seen from multi- perspectives. This space is “moving” and so are the objects within the space. They are constantly attaching, dividing and overlapping with one another.
With this, Danya discusses about themes of harmony, tension and negotiation in a high tech futuristic city. This series also discusses about the relationship between city and nature.
In 2020, Danya’s painting titled 《围城03》 was accepted and displayed at the The 2nd Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale in Shenzhen.
