This still life painting by Wang Mo Ping is one of a series of creations which he did in his studio during the extraordinary times in 2020. It nicely reflects his mastery and strong foundations in the realistic style of oil painting. The basket, garlic and sweet potatoes were all painted beautifully. The shadow of window panes and plants surrounding the main subjects and the capturing of sunlight entering the room elevated the artwork. Their inclusion reflected Wang Mo Ping’s keen attention to detail and suggested the space which he was in while creating this piece. Overall, this is an excellent work of art.

Wang Mo Ping was formerly an associate professor at the Hubei institute of Fine Arts in China and lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.
