Mr Lim Tze Peng is well known for pushing the boundaries of traditional calligraphy writing through the incorporation of different colours of paint into his black and white writings of meaningful characters or phrases. This decision to include colours into his creations forges a sense of vibrancy in his compositions and grabs the attention of viewers.
In 2003, Mr Lim Tze Peng received the Cultural Medallion award and in 2016, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. In 2019, Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery held a major exhibition of paintings by Lim Tze Peng at ION Orchard titled “The Centenarian Lim Tze Peng”. In 2021, a book of Mr Lim Tze Peng’s life and story titled “Soul Of Ink: Lim Tze Peng At 100” was launched at the Arts House in Singapore.
