This phrase highlights the principle that prosperity of everything in life - business and personal endeavours, is rooted in the unity of home and family.
Lim Tze Peng believes that art is a reflection of the artist’s temperament and moral character. Execution of a calligraphy work requires confidence, speed and mastery of technique, which takes patience and lots of practice.
According to Lim, everything in art begins with a line. Technique aside, what is more important to Lim is the life that is released to each stroke of the brush. His calligraphy works are bold and vigorous. The lines forming the characters are free-flowing, possesses inner strength and are not fleeting.
Lim prioritises the visual value and appeal of his calligraphy works as he thinks that even non- Chinese readers readers can appreciate the aesthetics of the characters
Lim Tze Peng received the Cultural Medallion award in 2013and he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2016.
In 2019, Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery held a major exhibition of paintings by Lim Tze Peng at ION Orchard titled “The Centenarian Lim Tze Peng”. In 2021, a book of Mr Lim Tze Peng’s life and story titled “Soul Of Ink: Lim Tze Peng At 100” was launched at the Arts House in Singapore.
