The daily activities of an eatery are depicted in this early painting by Lim Tze Peng. The captivating segments of the painting would be how he portrayed life as reflected by the animated interaction between stallholders and patrons. It is also interesting to note the purposeful application of bright colors specifically on the dressings of the people while the rest of the composition is filled with beautiful ink wash. It is commonly known that in the 1970s, Lim Tze Peng would frequently go on painting outings at the malay kampongs, these regular trips brought about opportunities for close observation of these places and nicely translated onto his paintings.
