More subtle than the traditional bold red rose, deep pink roses are symbolic of gratitude and appreciation. They are also often used to signify strong friendship or love between family members. Wang Mo Ping’s mastery and strong foundations in realistic oil painting style is expressed in this painting. The roses in full bloom are radiant and lively, while the pastel hues in the background bring a sense of comfort and softness to the artwork.
Wang Mo Ping was formerly an associate professor at the Hubei institute of Fine Arts in China and lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. He has held 6 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions to date. In 2017 his painting titled “饮水思源” was exhibited at the showcased at the “Commemorating NS50 through Art” organised by the Singapore Art Society and was collected by the Ministry of Defence.
