Singaporean artist Wang Mo Ping is well known for his impressionistic paintings of seascapes in Singapore. He frequents West Coast with his wife because of the beautiful colours of the waters and cool evening breeze. This particular painting was exhibited during his solo exhibition titled “Nanyang Sensations” which was held in 2015. An art catalogue was printed in conjunction with this exhibition.
In 2017, his painting titled “饮水思源“ was showcased at an exhibited titled “Commemorating NS50 Through Art” which was organised by the Singapore Art Society. The artwork was purchased and collected by the Ministry of Defence. In 2019, his painting titled Jurong Fishery Port won 1st place in the western oil painting catergory at the annual Dr Tan Tze Chor Art Awards organised by the Singapore Art Society.
