This painting by Tung Yue Nang was created during one of his painting trips to Pulau Ubin in 2015. It shows the iconic stage where opera performances and getai gigs where held. The depiction of visitors engaged in different activities forged a lively and energetic ambience in the painting. It also adds significance, creates meaning and pleasant memories for this iconic off-shore island.
Tung Yue Nang has held 2 solo exhibitions titled “Silence” and “Cityspace”at Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery in 2014 and 2016.
